But I Said to You, Lord

But I said to you
Lord, I worry, I fear
And He said to me,
daughter, whom I hold dear
Walk in the light, in
the truth, in the way
And I’ll keep what you’ve entrusted to Me for that day
But Lord, in despair,
in my darkest night hour
I pleaded for Your
strength, I begged for Your power
My lamb, He
responded, your Healer was there
Your prayers were answered, whom shall you fear?
But Lord, I asked You
to please show me the way
Why didn’t You
answer? Why the delay?
My dear, said the
Lord, first seek my face
My ways are not yours, trust in my pace
I love you, dear
child, through all of your strife
I made you by hand,
My breath gives you life
I know you better
than you know yourself
Would I leave you alone, without hope, without help?
I was there when your
cries tore through the night
I gave you comfort, I
brought you the light
Are My ears too dull
to hear? My eyes blind to see?
I died for your sins,
your pain belongs to Me
I love you in
sickness, I love you in pain
What you’ve thought
that you’ve lost, I know that you’ve gained
To live in this
world, full of suffering and grief
I don’t promise it’s easy, but know that it’s brief
There is a place for
you, beside My high throne
Don’t feel
discouraged, you are never alone
In the heavens on
high, full of light full of song
With the heavenly
hosts, you will sing along
Songs of glory and
songs of praise
In joy and in peace, My anthem you’ll raise
So My child, My dear,
daughter of God above
Stand strong in My
grace, stand strong in My love
You were brought to
this world with purpose, with reason
Your suffering and
pain last only a season
I know of your trials
before you even cry
But rest assured,
when you call- Here am I
